Abstract

Piracetam is established learning and memory enhancing agent which have gained entry into the market. Modafinil, a novel wake-promoting agent and Cissampelos pariera , have been reported  to have a similar clinical profile  . The present study was undertaken to investigate the comparative effect of Modafinil , Piracetam and Cissampelos pariera on learning and memory in mice. Elevated plus maze and passive avoidance paradigm were employed to test learning and memory. Common doses of (200mg/kg.) Piracetam1 Cissampelos pariera and Modafinil were administered for 7 successive days in separate group of animals.
